It's summer here, temperatures are in their mid 40's and just as the sun begins to set everyone is praying, washing and getting ready as they sit down with their food in front of them. Its hot and humid but there is also a large amount of patience and calmness in the air...Read More
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Ayla & Stephane's intimate engagement party. What a gorgeous couple! Ayla is from New Zealand and Stephane is from France; opposite sides of the world they found each other in Dubai...Read More
Some interesting visions on my road trip back to Dubai from Muscat via the old Batinah Coastal highway. I only wanted to stop to have a look at some really beautiful ruins I spotted on the way down but the more I explored the more I began to see. Life in these small towns are some times so surreal!
Here's part two of my small photo story.Read More
The first thing I stumbled across was a fishing village & fish market on the way back to Dubai from Muscat. Here is part one in my little photo series of the old Al Batinah coastal road.Read More
It's been a couple of months since the wedding and I received a surprise on my email today from Manar the bride. It really warmed my heart and captured what I do in true essence! Here's a postcard I made for them as a thank you.Read More
This February I shot a beautiful wedding in Muscat at the Al Bustan Ritz Carlton with a team of two other photographers! I'm busy editing away getting the wedding finished and thought I would share a sneak peak into one picture that was taken of me?! Yes you heard it right.. I really thought that weddings photographers were hired to take pictures of the bride and groom apparently not haha!
All joking aside, Manar and Tony convinced me that I should have my picture taken and in doing so took my cameras from me and started pretending to be me! I'm totally blushing and thinking to myself my life is weird and wonderful and that every moment is one to enjoy!
Thank to Manar and Tony for making my team feel so special during their wedding, for being such a beautiful couple, humble and relaxed and can't wait to share the rest of the photos soon!
Over the last few months I have found myself working for a diverse range of clients. From head shots to interiors to food, to finding myself on a beach in Zanzibar shooting for a wellness retreat (more to follow on that one!). All I know is that I love how diverse photography can be and this little blog post is about people! Not just any people but people who are making a name for themselves, talented individuals and professionals...Read More
Belinda my "Dubai Mum" recently rediscovered skate boarding from when she was a child when I moved in with her in December. This is a fun little shoot hanging out with her on the road and at the beach. As she loves yoga as well she couldn't resist but to bust out some moves on the board. It's amazing how there are so many ways to interpret life and what you love, so inspiring, and can you believe she's 50! So stoked to have met such a beautiful, engaging and life loving soul & can't wait for more little adventures! Enjoy!Read More
I’m gripped, I’m climbing up to the 3rd bolt and i’m pressing down hard on two crimps, I know I’m out of sequence, I’m too square on for the next move. I start sweating and feel the pump. If only I reposition myself, relax on my arms and turn my body to the wall for the next side pull but I don’t... The 3rd draw is at my face and all I can think about is the 6m fall I’m about to take and the ground below and start shaking, shallow breathing with my elbows out... I’m panicking and I'm trapped.Read More
I've recently realised that everything is connected. Everything is relative, and for me the one thing that connects everything together is passion. The passion for learning, meeting new people, challenging myself and improving. When we find ourselves disconnected from what we do we need to take a step back and look at things on the whole and find the thread that keeps everything bound together. The thread that weaves itself in and out of our spirits keeping us...well...inspired.Read More
From France I went to Italy. I reached out to acro community in both Milan and Genoa to be greeted with open arms. And so the spontaneous trip to Italy begun. A super cool chick called Monica put me up for a night on her sofa and we hung out with her friend Sara. I was held up in Malpensa airport so we didn’t get to acro jam but we had a nice bottle of wine which was gifted from my family and spent the night talking about their lives in Milan. They are both hilarious. Italians in general are so funny! ( I secretly think I was Italian in a former life) ...Read More
I think that everywhere you go and everyone you meet you fall in love with just a little bit. All these experiences in life change you and stay with you. I recently took some time out this summer to find my feet again travelling alone and meeting strangers on the way who have now found a place in my heart. Here is a blog post about my musings travelling between Slovenia, France & Italy Part 1.Read More
I have been working with Outdoor Research on taking over their Instagram feed to showcase a bunch of photos from my climbing trip last summer to in Alberta, Canada. The trip involved visiting my partner Read's amazing family in Calgary and then frequently heading up to the Acephale crag (inbetween Calgary and Canmore) where he was working on and eventually sent a route called " Ojas", meaning vigor in Sanskrit, an 8b+. There I met some incredible climbers, who, just like Read were making the most out of the painfully short climbing season in Alberta.Read More
Last year I was lucky enough to go to the Adršpach highline meeting in Czech Republic last year in July. This year I was approached by the organisation to use one of my photos I took of the talented Niklas Winter free soloing a line for a poster to promote this year's event. It's great to go full circle and see the photo get some use! Can't wait to get back on a highline this summer. For the article I wrote about high lining click here .Read More
Matt, Marina and I headed up to Jebel Jais whilst I was in RAK last week and did an impromptu shoot for their acro-yoga practice (also known as partner acrobatics). Not really knowing what the top of Jebel Jais was like until we got up there it was hard to plan the shots.Read More
"Wherever there is enthusiasm, there is a creative empowerment that goes far beyond what a mere person is capable of" (Eckhart Tolle). I feel honored to have taken this picture of Read Macadam standing at one of the higher lookout points in Sharaf Al Alamain in Oman. Over the last year and a half of knowing Read I've seen him commit himself to following his passions and dreams, step onto his own higher platform of hidden potential and confidently harness his creativity. Looking at this image I feel it connects with what's happening in his life right now. His own personal growth is just as expansive as the landscape which stands before him and he is truly committed to being his own guiding light. So proud to be apart of this awesome adventure he's headed on and such a cool profile picture for his coaching & climbing website.
Last week - amongst all the madness with taking pictures of the UAE's biggest rope swing I drove back to Dubai to take pictures for Tuesday'schild & Benetton UAE at the Cove JBH. The brief was simple and elegant with a touch of family. I loved the location and it really felt homely but chic. James and Teddy were super stars, and having recently taken pictures for James' fourth birthday both of the boys were familiar with me which is a bonus when taking pictures of children early in the morning.Read More
Such a cool project to be involved with last week. I helped taking some BTS photographs of the team which will be bringing you the GCC's highest rope swing: TraksPro Middle East. It was hot and the guys worked extremely hard to pull this off. And of course the lucky Read Macadam was able to try it out first!Read More
Absolutely loving James's 4th Birthday party set up from the glorious LaFayette Gourmet Dubai Mall, with an appearance from Vlada Zhizhchenko from Pole Fit Dubai on the silks as spiderwoman. It was such an awesome party and totally made my 4 year old self very envious! (I'm also still getting over the sugar rush from the shoot last week!). Check out the pictures below and also a selection on tuesdayschild.m's website for more finer details of the party and if you have your little one's birthday coming up get in touch to book a photographer or videographer to record the special event :)Read More
A couple of weeks ago we braved the heat to make a quick and easy 10 minute 'on the go' work out video. It was a collaboration between tuesdayschild, physique57, & koita foods- who own Gococo Coconut water . Physique57 do barre-based workouts with intervals of cardio, strength training, stretching and recovery. Simply said, they take the best of interval training and turn up the volume. I rather enjoyed filming, editing and being apart of this; all the brands are great and it was a lovely team put together by Tuesdayschild, well worth the sweat! Erin our main lady also did a fab job, it's not easy to be put under pressure but she aced it and was very inspiring to work with.
Check it out below, let me know what you think- and don't forget to grab yourself a Gococo coconut water ;)
